One Too Many
A downloadable game
"Oh, I just need to get these tasks done before the end of the day. Surely I get a job before long..."
Meet Mr. Couch Potato, a sweet guy recently launched into the swirling void of post-graduation unemployment. Now, the days are long, the energy is scarce, and the looming dread is starting to feel like a roommate.
You control his new daily routine. On unemployment benefits, his mission is simple: keep his tiny home clean, his mind marginally occupied, and his hope from completely evaporating.
- Manage Scarcity: Every action—from doing the dishes to indulging in his favorite pastime—costs precious, limited energy.
- The Existential Balancing Act: How will he spend his days? Will he prioritize self-care, job applications, or just one too many distracting indulgences?
- Decide His Fate: The clock is ticking toward the end of the day, and ultimately, the end of his benefits. What choices will finally pull Mr. Couch out of his existential slump and into a paying job?
One Too Many is a poignant, time-management minigame collection about the crushing weight and unexpected absurdities of job-seeking in the modern age.
This game was made during the 48hour Viborg Game Jam - December 2025!
